Why Inventory Management Matters

Inventory is usually one of the largest assets on your balance sheet, and every dollar tied up in it is a dollar you can’t spend growing. Turn your inventory twice a year and it takes six months to get those dollars back; turn it four times and you recover them in 90 days. The best public retailers turn stock every 30 to 60 days. You manage your inventory through our Business Intelligence Client Access Portal, a secure dashboard you reach from any internet connection worldwide, including mobile. From it you handle inventory, orders, backorders, receiving, inventory reorder levels, shipments, shipping history, and sales reports — all in real time. You can enter incoming inventory purchase orders, edit or cancel pending orders, and watch key KPIs update live. Powered by Qlik, the portal reports data from the official source, so what you see is what’s on the shelf, not last night’s snapshot.

Inventory control built for regulated and dated products

Not every unit is interchangeable, and our inventory management treats them that way. We track by lot, batch, serial, and expiration date, and rotate stock by FIFO, LIFO, or FEFO so the right units ship first and nothing expires on the shelf. That control matters most for the categories we specialize in — every Jay Group facility is FDA-registered and cGMP compliant, ISO 27001 certified, and DEA-registered — and it extends to regulated goods most 3PLs won’t touch, including hazmat classes 2, 3, and 9.
